A Place to Feel Understood Together
What Are Support Groups?
Support groups at Peace of Mind are closed-format, therapist-assisted group sessions that run over a set number of weeks. Each group is centred on a specific theme, such as grief, anxiety, relationship patterns, ADHD, or burnout, and is designed to offer not just shared experience but also structure and support from a trained mental health professional.
Unlike therapy that focuses on your individual history, group spaces help you reflect, listen, and learn in real time with people who “get it.” That sense of being seen and heard, without judgement or explanation, is what often makes group work powerful.
Who Is It For?
Support groups are for anyone going through emotional challenges who may benefit from connection with others facing something similar. You might feel like you’re managing okay on the outside; but inside, there’s a quiet struggle you don’t often share. Maybe you’ve done individual therapy and want to deepen your work. Or maybe the group feels like a gentler first step.
Themes may vary over time, but typically include:
- Anxiety and overthinking
- Relationship patterns and self-worth
- Grief and loss
- Managing adult ADHD
- Burnout and life transitions
If you’re unsure whether a group is right for you, our team can help guide you based on what you’re experiencing.
How the Groups Are Run ?
Each group is:
- Facilitated by a therapist trained in holding emotional space and ensuring safety for all participants.
- Small and consistent, usually 6 to 8 members—so there’s time and space for each voice.
- Confidential; what is shared in the room stays in the room.
- Time-bound, often spanning 6 to 8 weeks, with weekly 60–90-minute sessions.
You’ll get structure, shared reflection, and simple practices or takeaways you can use between sessions.
How Can Group Support Help You ?
There’s something deeply healing about sitting with others who may not know your story, but understand your feelings. In a world where we often carry our pain quietly, support groups remind us, we’re not broken, and we’re certainly not alone.
Being in a space like this can help:
- Ease emotional isolation
- Develop new perspectives
- Practice vulnerability in a safe way
- Build emotional regulation skills
- Strengthen interpersonal understanding
At Peace of Mind, groups are never clinical or cold. They’re real, human spaces for people looking to heal gently together.
